Confession || I'm a make-up addict

I confess: I'm a bit of a make-up freak. I freak out over new collections and new products and new brands. I spend most of my money on food, make up and clothing and éven more food. Literally. I don't save up. I think I need help!! So with the help of my loyal friend mister Google I stumbled upon a very handy 6 step program to being to over the make-up addiction. (Well any addiction really.)

Step 1: Admit there is a problem
-Well, I guess I'm doing that right now by writing this blogpost? Have I already started the road to recovery? I don't think so
Step 2: Are you willing to change?
-Yes, obviously.
Step 3: Look for a new "hobby"
- I can pick up art? Or writing, or more blogging?
Step 4: Therapy (?!!!!)
-I really don't think therapy is needed (for this "obsession")!!
Step 5: Try another approach if this doesn't work
- Do I actually have to look for professional help then?
Step 6: Talk about it
- The thing is; I constantly talk about it. My friends are as obsessed as I am. And the online community of beauty bloggers, vloggers and enthusiasts aren't really helping.

If these steps really work? I really don't think so.

I worked out my own kind of system. I put together the items I use daily and put them separately from the other items. I'll change these products up every month. Because I started school again this month I wanted my look to be as natural as possible. Nobody likes a cake face at school, right. September's products are very natural and light. I feel like keeping it natural all the time with a rosy cheek and a bold eyeliner.
I'm loving all these products so much right now. It doesn't look like I'm wearing that much actually.

Oh and am I the only person that wishes flower crowns were socially acceptable? This would be the perfect festival look, such a shame the festival season just passed! Oh well, next year.

Products used:
L'Oreal Volume Lashes Excess Mascara
Miss Sporty Waterproof 24h Pump Up Booster Eyeliner
Boujois Paris Concealer Stick #73 Beige Doré/ Golden Beige
Catrice Sun Glow Matt Bronzing Powder  #030 Medium Bronze
Catrice Multi Colour Compact Powder #010 Rose Beige
Catrice Eyebrow Set

Nivea Pure & Natural Eye Shadow #13 Vintage Rose
Catrice Prime and Fine Illuminating Base
Catrice Ultimate Moisture Fresh Skin Make Up #020 Sand

Does anybody have more tips on managing money and addictions?

Lots of love, Lamyae

Vacation || I'm officially back!

When you go on holiday to a specific kind of country I think you should dress the part. It's a respect thing and i guess it's cultural as well. You have to look at the people around you and see how they dress.

I've spend almost a month in Morocco, which is a Muslim country and culture is very important. I am a Moroccan Dutch girl, so I grew up with all the values that are implied in that country. You can't go out wearing booty shorts and a tank top, no matter how hot it is. It sounds weird, but I didn't even want to wear outfits like that. It's not normal in those countries to wear revealing clothes so when you do, you can expect to get all the (negative) attention on you.

I had a great time catching up with family and just exploring! I loved the beach, the food, the cute shops, the people and i really had a blast. A vacation is really what I needed and that's why I haven't been blogging (as well as other social media outlets) as much as I want to now.

Here are some of the outfits I wore:
Outfit #1:
  • Caramel colored top- Vero Moda (2 years ago, price unknown)
  • Maxi Skirt- The Hague market, €20,-
  • Brown gladiator sandals- Van Haren, price unknown

Outfit #2:

  • White patterned top- H&M, on sale €10,-
  • Aqua Maxi Skirt- The Hague market, €15,-
  • White flip fops- Birkenstock, €40,-
  • Little black fake Chanel bag- Moroccan Souk, 100 dirhams (€10,-)
  • Black Henna Tattoo was done by a really nice lady on the boulevard for 30 dirhams (€3,-!)
Outfit #3/4: Traditional Moroccan Caftan and Djeleba, these were custom made and worn on special occasions like weddings, baby showers, party's and holidays.

Some pictures of the gorgeous Moroccan Rif Mountains and landscape:

It's almost back to school for me, so the normal life is coming back again. It's my final year so I really need to focus. I'm going to try to blog more often and start interacting with other bloggers, because I really do enjoy this!

Please comment what you did over summer break and tell me about everything you did!

Love you lots,
Lamyae

Just a quick update: i'm on vacation!

I haven't been blogging for the last couple of months. This was because i was finishing the schoolyear (which was extremely difficult), because i had 0% inspiration, because i haven't done something special or really fun in a while. But now i'm on vacation, calming down a bit. There is a lack of internet connection around here, so i'm posting this from my phone. I'll try to post something about my adventures here soon!

Much love from morocco and please tell me about your summer!

Love you lots,
Lamyae

Lana Del Rey is my Queen

Last Wednesday, 29 may 2013, I went to the Lana Del Rey concert at the Heineken Music Hall and I actually had the best time of my life.

When we arrived at the HMH there was already a good vibe going on, everybody was excited and everybody was in a good mood. We could sit/stand wherever we wanted so that was definitely a plus! So were exploring the venue a bit and trying out the best places.

We sat at the balcony when Kassidy (Lana's opening act) started up around 8 PM. I already knew them a bit so was excited that they were opening up for her. I've seen their Paradise Tour daily vlogs, so I knew they were hilarious but also very good. We had a pretty good view, but we wanted to get closer for Lana. Kassidy played a really good gig and they sounded perfect.

Lana came out around 9 PM, we were standing in the crowd and everybody went insane. But because I'm so tiny I basically went bananas for nothing lol! A very nice (and fabulously gay) guy lifted me up to let me see her a bit! After the first song (she actually started up with Pepsi Cola, so her first line was "My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola") we decided to stand on the stairs. This actually was the best decision ever, there were not that many people on the stairs and we could sing along freely. We had a perfect view up there. And I swear to God that I saw Lana waving at me!

Lana was absolutely stunning and so so so nice. She came down to the audience to sign and take pictures about 3 times. She said she will be standing outside to take pictures after the show, but sadly I couldn't be there.

So my cheeky little monkeys, my girlcrush only went bigger and my obsession grew stronger. Go to see your favorite artists if you have the chance to, because those memories will last you a lifetime.

Love you lots,
Lamyae

PS. The Lana Del Rey Vlog will be going up soon!

I am a color runner!

Sunday was the first Dutch edition of The Color Run in Amsterdam. I've always read about the event and seen a lot of video's about it, so when I heard it came to Holland I was too excited!
I was lucky I got tickets because they started selling them at 10 am and they were sold out within half an hour.

I promised myself I would come prepared, but I guess I've started lying to myself. I never really got myself into shape so when Sunday arrived I was screwed. I really had a blast even though I didn't run the 5K at once. I loved the colors, the people, the atmosphere. Only in Holland would people be drinking beer and dancing right before the start of a 5K run. It really was the happiest 5K on the planet.

I think I'll be volunteering at the next event, I would love to be part of the organisation and see what's going on backstage.

The next run in Holland will be in Zwolle on 7th of July and Utrecht on 4th of august, tickets will be available 1st of June at 10 am. Be there, my cheeky little monkeys!

More pictures from my friends and me at the color run

Lots of love,
Lamyae

PS. Vlog will be up on my YouTube Channel soon!

I am the Queen of Social Media

They keep inventing new social media outlets. And I am the person that keeps trying every one of them out, oops.

Keek, Instagram, Kik, Path, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Google+, Youtube; gotta catch em all!

Life would be a lot more exciting if instead of collecting online worlds there were just a bunch of Pokémon that would roam around to be caught. And the crazy thing is that they basically all do the same.
My newest obsession is snapchat, it seems like the funniest thing on earth. Crazy selfies and creepy video's are ruining my life at the moment!

Add me to see the madness yourself: OMGlamyae

Oh well, I think it's time to go to bed. My fantasy is going a bit crazy.

Goodnight my cheeky little monkeys, and try to contain your social media excitement because that's what I need to do too.

Lots of love,
Lamyae

Good girls gone bad

First there was Britney's breakdown, then there was Lindsey's addiction and now there's Amanda's weirdness. What do these good girls do wrong that they become bad girls.

Spring breakers, a movie nobody really gets but everybody wants to see. What's that about? Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens and more going absolutely mental and embracing the mentalness? I don't think the movie would've got so much publicity if there were just regular actresses in them. These were children once, as well as celebrities so the whole world got to watch them grow up.

I think it's unfair to judge people but i also think these public people should consider the image they are bringing out the younger children.

The newest member of the "good girls gone bad" club is Amanda Bynes. She thinks she's absolutely normal and that the world should leave her alone.  What is your opinion about her?

So, my cheeky little monkeys please keep true to yourself and keep in mind that nobody's perfect and you shouldn't be either!

Lots of love, Lamyae

Queensday 2013 and i'm feeling kind of nostalgic

Today Holland got a new King and Queen, and the Queen became a Princess once again. After 33 years of reigning Holland, the actual Queen B(eatrix) had enough. And of course every good citizen of The Netherlands was watching with a close eye. Some shed a tear and some thought this was long over due.

I really had a blast at "Het Neuden" in Utrecht. Horrible music, drunk people and a lot of orange and it still felt good to be there. I really had a blast. The only thing i missed this year was the sun, which thought it was OK to be fashionably late. Well, thanks sunshine for showing up at the end of my day for 5 minutes.

So, my cheeky little monkeys; how did you celebrate Q-day? And if your not dutch, i hope you had a nice day!

Love you lots, Lamyae

I'm wearing: Denim Jacket- Primark
Shirt with a cat and a mustache on it- River Island
Royal Blue Jeans- Bershka
High White Sneakers- H&M
Orange Bag- H&M
Crown- Market

Sunshine is finally here!

Do you ever think back to when you're around 15 years old and just cringe of the memories and flashback? Well, lately i tend to be doing that a lot more and more. Maybe it's because spring time is happening again, and i'm just happy that winter is over.

Yesterday i went for a walk with my best friend in the real dutch landscape, with mills, cows and everything that's dutch. The moment when the sun comes out every middle-aged dutch citizen whips out their bikes and take it on the first ride of the year.

Sun makes everything better, sun brings out the good ánd bad memories and the sun brings out complete happiness.

So, my cheeky little monkeys, enjoy the sunshine, take in the vitamin D and love springtime!

Love you lots, Lamyae

To ship, or not to ship

Shipping. I'm sure you have heard the term before, unless you have been living under a internet-less rock the past few months.
Urbandictonary discribed it as "to support or endorse a romantic paring that is not canon in the work(s) in which they appear. The shipping of couples is often the purpose of many fanfiction stories. Used for characters in anime, manga, video games, tv shows, etc."
Well I guess that's a way to put it!

I'm sure you all heard the ship names of the One Direction boys, as the Larry ship has caused quite a fuss in the Directioner scene, but what about pairing two gorgeous Youtubers together. Zalfie (Zoe from Zoella and Alfie from PointlessBlogTV), for example. We all would be ecstatic if it would happen, but who knows if it ever will. I think every fandom has its own ship and their own otp (one true pairing). I guess fans just really like to fantasize and imagine what would happen if...

So my cheeky little monkeys, what is your otp? And what ship do you think is actually ridiculous?

Love you lots, Lamyae

P.S. Check this amazing song out from Troy Sivan- OTP
P.P.S. My otp is Zalfie
P.P.PS. I'm done now, bye.

Mom's remedy

I wasn't feeling well lately so I went on a search to the best remedy for sickness. Everyone around me was getting sick, except for me. Well I guess Karma finally got to me.

Cough syrup, nose spray, ibuprofen, paracetamol, soup and of course loads of tissues. You know how it is, you get sick and you hate it. Nobody has time for sickness and nobody has time to get better. I guess that's why society is getting crazier by the day. Nobody has time for their self's anymore.

But i've found my remedy; mom's special tea.

So cheeky little monkeys, trust your mothers. They really do know best! And please, do take time for yourself.

Lots of love, Lamyae

Book Review || The Uglies Series

I've been reading The Uglies series by Scott Westfeld, and I was really amazed by it. What would happen if the world really would become a place where everybody is pretty?

Could you live in a world here everybody is absolutely dazzlingly pretty from the age of 16? A world that revolves around partying and having fun? A world where war and poverty doesn't exist? And a world where nature isn't being touched?
It sounds absolutely amazing, but what would it matter if your mind is not thinking on its own.

Tally, Shay, Zane etc are all characters who were able to snap out of it, characters who were able to think that the world they live in isn't real. The truth is; how many of us would be able to do that? I hope I could.

So my cheeky little monkeys, do you think you would keep your mind sane in a world like that?

Lots of love, Lamyae

The power of viral video's

Goat Remixes, The Harlem Shake, Gangnam Style, Call me maybe etc etc. Everybody knows about them and nobody ever sees them coming. Who thought the whole intire world would be immitating a middleaged asian man who’s doing a horseriding dance? Who thought the world all of the sudden started making 30 second video’s dancing all crazy to the same song. And what were people thinking when they all started putting yolo at the end of every sentence. Because yolo, right? At some point ever person that has access to the internet knows about this phenomenon.

The Fine Bros on YouTube every week make two video’s with two different target groups. These groups each react to differently video’s. That’s why it’s so interesting watching the video’s. Kids react, teens react, elders react and youtubers react are all products of content creators who try to think big.
So my cheeky little monkeys, think of it as motivation to think big. Try to see the world through different perspectives. And please try to see everything with an open point of view.
Oh and try to enjoy it, don’t overthink the video’s. After all they’re just for your entertainment.

Lots of love, Lamyae

The Cheeky Make-Up name game

I was reorganizing my make-up and it suddenly hit me. Make-up names are crazy.
Dating Joe Black, The lord of the blings, Strawberry Frappucino, Champaign Stain, I love Candy, Cheeky Pink etc etc. I love them, I think they make me buy items a lot faster. Put on some Hue Mac lipstick with some Stawberry Frappucino blusher and a little Dating Joe Black eyeliner. Doesn't that sound a bit more exciting than "Let me put some lipstick, blush and eyeliner on"?

So product developers, thanks for making buying and putting make-up on sound a bit more exciting!

So cheeky little monkeys, go play around with your make-up! Try making a game of it; try telling a story with your make-up.

Chelsea was on her way with a Twinkle In The Eye, she knew she was more than just the Girl Next Door everybody knew she was Something Special

228 Chelsea - NYC
050 Twinkle In The Eye- Catrice
Girl Next Door- MAC
Something Special- MAC

Oh, school

After having an internship for a half year in Amsterdam, I had to go back to full time school. Horrible. Terrifying. Oh the terror. The fact that I worked at home and slept in every day made it even worse to go back on Monday.

Well, I did it my cheeky little monkeys. Monday, 9 AM, I started the first official day of school this year. Oh well, let's do this!

So from today on I am a cheeky little student!

C'est la vie basically means "Shit happens"

I just finished watching a video where a guy explains all his random tattoos. He showed this gorgeous chest piece that read "C'est La Vie". It's funny that he explained such a beautiful saying as "It basically means; shit happens". I loved this.

I guess what i'm trying to tell you is, don't take everything so seriously. Life should be easy, life should be fun, life shouldn't be as hard as we want to make it.

I am the Queen of Procrastination

I hereby crown myself: Lamyae, The Queen of Procrastination ruler of the Untouched Homework and Unmade Essays.

It´s all fun and games now, but the deadline is coming closer with every second. And here I am, blogging, tumblring, youtubeing and doing everything I really shouldn't do. But you know, my cheeky little monkeys, I can do this. I can make this procrastination thing go. I just have to close everything I don't need to be doing right now.

So, goodbye for now & wish me luck.

Love, Lamyae

Hello there my cheeky little monkeys

How are you doing? How was your day? What have you been up to lately?
I had the sudden urge to start a blog, so here I am.

I never tend to keep up with these things, I kindof started a little collection actually. It's not that I don't want structure and one regular blog that I update every single day.
To be honest, I don't really have time for that kind of shannanigans.

So, what you can expect on OMGlamyae is a LOT of randomness, weirdness and me having a blast.

Love you lots,
Lamyae
